You will walk, wade, and swim through the gorge, enjoying the refreshing air and splashes of waterfalls.
The tour is less physically demanding than the packrafting tour, which makes it a great option for families and larger groups.
About Yufugawa Gorge
Yufugawa Gorge is a 20 to 30-minute drive from the famous Beppu and Yufuin hot springs. With its magnificent rock wall, layers of moss, ferns, and thriving ecosystem, the gorge has become a popular attraction for both visitors and photographers. Children older than 11 years old (150 cm or taller, accompanied by a parent or legal guarzian) are eligible to participate as well! We are now accepting bookings for private tours!

Japanese-speaking guide for 1- 3 people: 24,000 yen.
Guide with Translation Machine（English-Japanese）for 1-3 people:30,000 yen.

The iconic Chock Stone is a huge boulder wedged between the rock wall of the Yufugawa Gorge.
At the narrowest section, the rock walls are only 2 meters apart.
Even if you search all over Japan, the Yufugawa Gorge is extremely rare.
The chockstone is a symbol of this gorge, and it continues to capture the hearts of many people and has been the subject of many photographs.
The chockstone in Yufugawa Gorge has been featured in posters of major companies and the works of renowned photographers. The tour provides a unique trekking experience that allows you to more safely venture deeper into the gorge to witness the chockstone. Inside the gorge, you’ll enjoy a cooler temperature, lush greenery, and the tranquil sound of the waterfall’s splash.

To see the chockstone, you must walk on the slippery rocks and proceed through waist-deep water. For safety reasons, we do not recommend going without safety gear. To ensure safety, the tour fee includes the rental of a helmet, life jacket, non-slip water shoes, thick wetsuit pants to protect your lower body and gloves. This tour is designed to provide participants with a safer and more comfortable river trekking experience.

■What to Wear
- Tops that can get wet
- Underwear and T-shirts that are quick dry (Workout clothes and rash guards work well. Please avoid Cotton)
- Socks (To prevent blisters)
*For the bottom, we have wetsuit pants.
* If you wear contacts, 1-day lenses are recommended. If you wear glasses, please prepare a glass strap or band.
*We recommend taking off nail extensions beforehand.

- Please refrain from bringing large cameras, tripods and other large devices that would be difficult to carry.
- If the guide determines that it is dangerous to carry, you will be prohibited from using it in the gorge.
- Depending on the water level, the water can reach up to your chest.

Requirements for Participation
- Age: 11-65 years old *Participants under the age of 18 must join with a parent or a legal guardian.
- Height: Higher than 150cm(4.9ft)
- Shoe size: Minimum 21 cm
- Not feeling sick, pregnant, or under the influence of alcohol on the day of the tour.
- Must be able to follow instructions from guides and staff members.
- All the participants must be able to understand the selected language option.
TEST
■Regarding the Cancellation of the Tour due to the conditions
- As a basic rule, tours will be canceled in case of rain.
- The tour may be canceled due to the high-water level even if it rained a few days before the tour.
- In case of cancellation due to natural causes, the tour will be rescheduled or the participation fee will be fully refunded.
- We will try our best to contact you regarding tour cancellation due to natural cause by 6 p.m. before the tour day. However, please understand that decisions may be made in the morning on the day of the tour. Please provide a means of contact when you book the tour such as WhatsApp, LINE, Facebook Messenger, etc.,
Cancellation Policy
After booking is confirmed, a cancellation fee will be charged if you cancel due to personal reasons or change the day of the tour.
